As part of the CC&NB Management Team the successful applicant will enable the delivery of the CPS business strategy. Act as a powerful commercial leader influencing the alignment with PCM strategy and in turn driving the tactical execution of the strategy within CPS across the various stakeholder groups both in PCM and ING Group wider markets. Lead the teams that own and manage all functions of card based commercial payments – from product strategy, product & process optimisation, credit risk management, fraud management, operations, architecture, outsource supplier management, incident management, client implementations through to financial performance. Realise the Pan-European ambition that ING has in the Commercial Card arena.
1. Build and continually refresh the Product Management & Client Delivery Organisation and Framework within CPS
• Define product management and client delivery and instil this understanding across the Commercial Payment Solutions teams via active leadership and influence using the 4 existing functional leads
• Develop product management framework and instil in the teams the discipline to manage specific products
• Build and develop organisation structure to drive focus on financial performance across the full CPS value chain
• Drive active alignment with internal and external partners and change management organisation
• Chair the monthly CPS MT incorporating the 4 functional leads, Head of Sales for CPS and Client Manager.
2. Refine the long term Business Strategy to meet customer needs and drive business growth / cost optimisation
• Develop the tactical execution plan for the business strategy to identify key gaps and optimisation opportunities to drive growth and cost reduction in line with the PCM strategy
• Work with the schemes and business partners to identify new product, segment and market opportunities
• Develop the integrated Customer Value Proposition for sales and client management that incorporates traditional T&E opportunities but extends into Procurement and especially Supply Chain Finance and Integrated Payables approaches
• Manage the business P&L
• Develop insights into competitive and adjacent industries
3. Lead via teams the execution of product & process enhancements / Develop new offerings to meet customer needs and drive business growth / optimisation
• Prioritise & implement strategy across products and markets
• Manage end to end product delivery through end to end project management and change management approach according to the ING framework
• Manage Products and Partners effectively driving control & compliance across the organisation
• Optimise processing and platform strategy across Europe
• Ensure high level control of initiatives on products to ensure they meet all regulatory and legal requirements
• Lead prioritisation of all change activity and align appropriately with Change Management partners where appropriate to ensure appropriate budgetary control and stakeholder support.
• Explore and engage with external parties to identify New Product Development and partnership opportunities
4. Lead and inspire direct and wider CPS / functional teams and be recognised in the payments industry
• As an active CC&NB member, provide visible and powerful commercial leadership
• Lead a large team of circa 15 FTE across full value chain supporting the sales teams
• Drive role clarity across team and empower team to own the customer experience end to end
• Undertake the performance management and development of direct team members
• Ensure effectiveness by developing top quality professional staff at all levels, including identifying suitable successors
• Represent ING at external forums
